The Great Blizzard quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley introduces players to Olaf while challenging them to clear a harsh snowstorm from the Frosted Heights. To complete this mission, players must investigate the source of the magic, recover stolen missing body parts, and solve a stone chamber puzzle. Following a clear step-by-step roadmap ensures you can navigate the storm quickly and welcome Olaf into your village permanently.
Investigating the Storm and Finding the Secret Cave
To begin the story, speak with Merlin, who will task you with discovering what triggered the massive snowstorm. Travel straight to the Frosted Heights biome and search the northern cliff wall past the pillar to locate a hidden stone door. Interacting with the secret entrance allows you to step inside and meet Olaf, who is currently missing his nose and buttons.
Chasing Scary Squirrels and Unlocking Water Memories
Step back out into the blizzard to locate four mischievous shadow squirrels carrying Olaf's stolen pieces. Catching all four squirrels restores his face and body, but you will still need to recover his arms and the missing orb. Next, consult with Elsa to learn how your Royal Watering Can can reveal hidden memories trapped inside sparkling water locations.
Crafting the Dreamlight Prism and Solving the Gem Puzzle
Search the secret chamber for dark portal research books, then head to a crafting station to construct a Dreamlight Prism. You will need 10 Glass, 5 Purified Night Shards, and 3 Shattered Prisms collected from the cave floor. Place the completed prism onto the central pedestal, then insert an Amethyst, Citrine, and Emerald onto the surrounding pedestals to activate the portal.
Restoring the Pillar and Completing the Quest
Interact with the active dark portal and share a secret to retrieve the lost orb along with Olaf's missing arms. Return the arms to Olaf, then carry the restored orb outside and insert it into the Frosted Heights pillar to clear the severe blizzard. Finish up by speaking with Olaf one last time to complete the quest and unlock him as a permanent resident.
